A growing number of people are choosing to train their own service dogs and I am here to help. This helps keep costs down and improves the relationship with your service dog.
Service dogs come from a wide variety of places- some people choose to pick a dog from a breeder or rescue with the idea of training them to work in mind, while others decide a current, older pet might become a suitable partner (particularly if they develop the ability to alert to a medical condition).
Depending on the level of the dogs training when we start will determine the length of time required for training. The more service related tasks you add to your regiment the longer the training process will take. Most dogs on average take 10 sessions.
Due to the variety of issues service dogs are capable of assistance with you will need to contact me to discuss options and pricing.
If you need the dog to turn on the lights, take the trash out, and put the dishes in the sink we can make it happen. If you can imagine it in most cases it can be done. We will teach you to properly train your dog for task specific service related tasks.
Due to the format of the RDT service dog training program, training time is shorter than most training programs and thousands less.
Upon completion your dog will meet all of the ADAAG Guidelines and you will be able to take your dog with unrestricted access to all public places.
